Privileges Required to use Event Definitions

To use Event Definitions and their Events, you need one of the following:

• scheduler-administrator or redwood-administrator role
• scheduler-event-operator or redwood-operator role
• system or partition-level permissions
• object-specific privileges

Using Events

The following privilege ranks are available on Event Definitions:

• View - allows you to view Event Definitions on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object), you have no further privileges through this rank.
• Create - allows you to create Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition), you have no further privileges through this rank, you automatically get All privilege rank on Events you create.
• Edit - allows you to create, view and edit all Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object).
• Manage Events - allows you to view the Event Definition and view, raise, delete archived Events, as well as clear Events of that Event Definition.
• Delete - allows you to create, view, manage and delete all Event Definitions and Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object).
• All - full control over all Event Definitions and Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object).

You also require View privileges on the partition of the Event Definition.

Alert Source Actions can reference the following objects, you need at least View privileges on these objects as well as their partition(s) when you want to create/edit/delete a Alert Source Action that references them:

• Application.
• Process Server - file Events only.

Built-in Roles

• The scheduler-administrator or redwood-administrator built-in role provides full control over Events and Event Definitions.
• The scheduler-job-administrator or redwood-operator built-in role provides full control over Events and Event Definitions.
• The scheduler-viewer or redwood-support built-in role provides read-only access to Events and Event Definitions.

Creating Event Definitions

You need one of the following privilege ranks to be able to create Event Definitions:

• Create - allows you to create Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition), you have no further privileges through this rank, you automatically get All privilege rank on Events you create.
• Edit - allows you to create, view and edit all Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object).
• Delete - allows you to create, view, manage and delete all Event Definitions and Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object).
• All - full control over all Event Definitions and Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object).

Editing Event Definitions

To successfully edit an Event Definition, you must have at least one of the following privileges:

• Edit - privilege rank on the Event Definition, or on Event Definitions in its partition or system-wide.
• All - privilege rank on the Event Definition, or on Event Definitions in its partition or system-wide.

You also require View privileges on the partition of the Event Definition.

Editing Events

• Clear - privilege rank on the Event Definition, it allows you to clear Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object), or on Event Definition, it allows you to clear Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object) in its partition or system-wide.
• Raise - privilege rank on the Event Definition, it allows you to raise Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object), or on Event Definition, it allows you to raise Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object) in its partition or system-wide.
• Manage Events - privilege rank on the Event Definition, it allows you to raise and clear Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object), or on Event Definition, it allows you to raise and clear Events on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object) in its partition or system-wide.
• Edit - privilege rank on the Event Definition, or on Event Definition in its partition or system-wide.
• All - privilege rank on the Event Definition, or on Event Definition in its partition or system-wide.
