Insight
Financial processes are getting more complex and need to comply with new standards. The result for many businesses is long closing times, human error, delays due to leave. Automating the processes used to be very complex, as numerous manual tasks have to be performed in the process. Insight offers a comprehensive set of tools to allow you to streamline the process, alert users when actions are required, escalate when necessary, and offers business-user-oriented process monitoring. The business user, as opposed to the IT user, might not be interested in each and every step of the process, but needs to know the status of the overall process.
FPA allows you to have two distinct interfaces inside Redwood Server, one for IT users, the default, and a simplified interface for business users. This alleviates the need for training, or reduces such need to a minimum.
The following figure illustrates the architecture behind FPA:
note
The databases used by Redwood Server and Report2Web do not have to be of the same type nor reside on the same host.
Report2Web Integration
Report2Web is the Redwood document management system. You usually integrate Redwood Server Insight module with Report2Web to use the document approval feature and end user-friendly user interface. Additionally, you publish output to Report2Web and store all your documents in one central location. Storing output in Report2Web allows you to shorten retention and offload the central Redwood Server.
Report2Web has many more document management and automation features; see Document Process Automation for more information.
Cross-Application and Cross-Platform
Redwood Server interfaces with many ERP and CRM software packages, multiple platforms, and many other pieces of software. This allows you to create processes that span multiple systems and platforms and have IT as well as business users monitor them from one central location.
