deprecated topic Redwood Transport Files

Redwood provides two sets of transport files:

  • XBP transport files
  • SAP system copy transport files

XBP transport files

XBP transport files provide additional capabilities to

  • manage and ping RFC destinations
  • manage variants

Although there are not strictly mandatory, it is highly recommended to install them.

The XBP transport files are available in the download area of the Redwood SAP System Copy tool

SCP transport files

SCP transport files provide functionality to

  • change the logon screen

Although there are not strictly mandatory, it is highly recommended to install them.

The SCP transport files can be automatically downloaded and placed into the appropriate transport directories by running the process definition SCP_Download_Redwood_Transports

Installation

There are two general ways to install the transport files:

  1. Import the transport files into the source system
  2. Will be automatically copied over to the target system
  3. One-off installation

This is the recommended way of installing the transport files.

  1. Import the transport files into the target system with every refresh after the database restore
  2. Source system is not modified
  3. The transport files get installed regardless if they exist in the source system or not
